Placemaking Week Europe in Pontevedra last month has been a wonderful opportunity for Placemaking Balkans - the youngest network in the larger family of European placemaking networks - to meet like-minded public space designers and policy makers. We hosted a special session on “High Pressure - Placemaking Challenges in South East Europe” to raise awareness about the region’s complexities and burdens of intensive densification, loss of green in major urban centers and driving civic participation for positive change. Many thanks to all of colleagues from Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece and Slovenia as well from UK, Hungary and USA for their active participation in the session!
