On Monday, October 13, a rural placemaking pre-workshop within the SPACE Project was held at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory. The project aims to empower young people and encourage their active involvement in shaping public spaces in peri-urban and rural areas.
The Belgrade pre-workshop, as well as the upcoming workshop to be held later in October in Deventer (the Netherlands), are designed for activists engaged in public space and youth culture. During the session, Milena Ivković and Sara Nikolić presented the core principles of placemaking, participatory design, and meaningful youth engagement in planning and co-creation processes, along with the results of the study conducted in the project’s first phase.
Within this project, Placemaking Western Balkans collaborates with the initiatives Volim Padinjak from Padinska Skela and the Jerma Citizens’ Association, with the support of the Erasmus+ Programme.
In the next phases of the project, participants will engage in collaborative interventions in public spaces, adapting solutions to local contexts and community needs.
